The Beaufort River, Calibogue Sound, and the May River: the southern Lowcountry's tides run even bigger, and its waterfront investment runs bigger with them.
Tidal range in the Beaufort–Hilton Head region pushes seven to eight feet on springs — the largest loads on the South Carolina coast. Walls here need anchor capacity and toe protection designed for it, and walls imported from gentler assumptions show it within a decade.
On Hilton Head's plantation waterfronts and Bluffton's May River bluffs, regulators look closely at new hard armoring; living shoreline and hybrid approaches are often both the permittable path and the better long-term one. We work both sides of that line.
